Filthy weather for half an hour. Better on large.

Filthy weather for half an hour. Better on large.
Generally a pleasant day but for half an hour a snow storm rolled in sharply and I saw it coming and prayed it would be over quickly (I was in t-shirt gear). Thankfully it was short-lived, but a warning to the likes of me that you must always be prepared in the mountains! Even for a snow storm in May!

That is what was so surprising. May in Spain is almost summer! This was an odd anomaly, to say the least! Stay safe, Peggy!

Amazing image that immediately conveys a strong sensation, visual and emotional, of the sudden incoming of a snowstorm.

Wild weather indeed, Andy, though a great image is compensation for being caught. I hope you were able to find some kind of shelter while it went past.

Eeeh, that looks nasty -but photographically very nice indeed. Hope you did not get too wet or cold on this outing. Sounds like you came prepared though. Well done.

Oh wow, Andy - that storm looks evil. I love the colour of everything - yes always remember to take warm clothes with you.

I 'NEARLY' always did, Jenny. But I got the local weather forcast and it said 'all good and fair,' SO I took a considered view and thought why take the weight of my jumper and jacket. I was therefore wearing a t-shirt and shorts!
Yes I was bitterly cold but I knew a snow storm in May wouldn't alst long and, inded, it was over in 20 minutes and quickly dried out! The rest of the day was clear blue sky!

Mountains are generally known for their weather moods. I'm glad you got off lightly. ;)
By the way, fascinating mood picture, Andy!

I was taught many decades ago to respect the mountains and always be prepared for the worst that nature can throw at you.
My excuse is that there were no indications, whatsoever, in the weather forecasts! The previous six weeks of benign conditions, etc etc ... Of course I had disobeyed my own rules and been lulled into a false sense of security.
A bit like the current global fiasco I think!
