Granite and vulture territory - Cancho de La Bola

Granite and vulture territory - Cancho de La Bola
Sierra de La Cabrera on a very hot day. The Griffon vultures' favourite home is that guano stained boulder top centre.

xenophora, Fred Fouarge, Anton Cruz Carro, Erhard Bernstein and 22 other people have particularly liked this photo

The vultures would be very unhappy as it has been their favourite home since the last Ice Age (my guesstimate!). You can get a better view of this boulder from my vultures album here www.ipernity.com/doc/2247598/album/1022196
Thanks Steve! Take care!

Interesting and It's surprising how some of the boulders appear as if they were dropped there last week...// Cheers from > Dj.

I should think that it gets quite "whiffy" up there on the middle rock, in the hot weather!!!! Lovely picture here, Andy.

No, the guano has been accumulating over 1,000s of years. Jenny!

My favourite walking country and it will soon be spring in the mountains and I won't get to see it. All of Spain in lockdown, so restricted to my flat. I won't even see a tree or flower or even a blade of grass for ages!

Yes, June is just about late spring in the mountains. By the end of June all will have turned yellow.

The natural settings where Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger was filmed. It seems that the giant will appear at any moment . Greetings, Anton
