Enjoy with me this breathtaking, beautiful beach along the highlands coast in the Sutherland region of Scotland. My idea of paradise with pure golden sand, clean cool water and scenery inhabited only by birds and rabbits. Not a footprint or unnatural sound to spoil the magic.

Enjoy full size.

Glad you enjoyed this my friend. This beach was only just bettered by the next one at Clachtoll, a bigger and more interesting beach but this was made by its pristine views with not a cottage etc in sight. Not that there was nothing just over the hill behind me.

The 500, is a very popular route and almost everywhere on it has now gone busier and more expensive. Both this and Clachtoll have bigish caravan sites almost on the beach but it runs along a road that would give many people nightmares if towing. A motorhome is then better. We followed the winding road past Clachtoll via Stoer and Drumbeg, car only, and I still wake up in a sweat! On our truer big 500 type of route that we took in 2014 we stayed at Durness and Dunnet head on the north coast returning down the East coast via Wick, Inverness and Aviemore. Hope this feeds your hunger.

Keep safe. Herb

Exactly my kind of beach too Herb..............you could easily be forgiven for assuming you'd taken this somewhere in the Caribbean..!!

I love it for all the reasons you've already mentioned in your description...........plus the lovely light and the nice wave action.

Good that you once again see in my photos what I see and feel Keith. We have two framed pictures in our bedroom -one a print the other a painting, both looking similar to this - paradise beach.

Some more nice beach photos to come. Keep safe. Herb

A beautiful picture Herb. I love the soft blues and the wave gently reaching the shore.

A scene to put our minds to rest Rosa. So different in feel to the one taken in Wales the other week full of people. Glad you liked it.

Take care. Herb
