An artistic look at the beach and view towards the south on a somewhat breezy day. The dome is located on the disused RAF Portreath airfield and the tower is the remains of Wheal Sally.
Enjoy full screen.

Familiar coast and weather conditions!
I agree that full screen is excellent for the full effect, Herb!
The dome is part of the Nancecuke nuclear research station, longtime mothballed but obviously still out of bounds. As you say Herb it abuts the airfield.

Thanks for this. I would have known that you would know something about that dome. I did try to research it but I could not find anything about it. Looking at GE etc I could see that it came within the perimeter of the airfield. Thanks for the info. Great that you enjoyed the capture and as you say, an we witnessed on our week -pretty typical weather conditions with these winds.

Keep good. Herb

As you know, I currently live with my sister's family outside Madrid, Herb. They returned yesterday from a week's visit to my parents in Cornwall (I couldn't go sadly due to health reasons) and the weather was exactly the same as here in Madrid last week; snow, hail, rain cloud, biting cold and fierce winds! Roll on better spring weather!

I forgot to say that you probably know why the 'official' maps locate it within the airfield boundary when in fact it lies outside. A lot to do with the Official Secrets Act, I surmise!

Such a dramatic, but beautiful black and white image Herb. Really threatening clouds, but gorgeous light on the water. The sea spray and the white wave tops stand out nicely and I love the wet sand in the foreground!

This shot shows exactly what Ulrich John has just said (above)!!

Its always good to read your comments Keith and to receive your acclamation too. This is actually in colour but the mood and lighting almost makes a monochrome. Glad it conveyed the windy sea spray at its best with the incoming shower.

Best Wishes. Herb

I should have noticed it wasn't black and white........from the hints of blue in the sky! Sorry mate!
