Orion Or POT

Orion Or POT
We loose Orion very fast from our skies so this is next months target . This was shot first night out with the tracker but it sits over the city light plume. next month this is due east out of city lights so I want to try my 150-600 lens. Remember past the equator it is no longer Orion but the "Pot" as its up side down. 200mm lens. From top to bottom

Orion Nebula Top
Running Man Nebula
Horse head nebula my personal fav.
Flame nebula At the bottom.
I hope I can get a still night no wind to bring these to life I am following Ko here. I only wish I lived in the northern hemisphere to set up the tracker properly.

Another superb capture Steve. Orion is my favourite constellation for sure Great to see what I imagine to be the tree stars of the belt here too. - If you lived in the North you would be hard put to find skies this dark. Well done. Herb

thanks Herb one of the best know and very easily to pick out I just hope to get a good chance with the long lens to do all 4 of them as singles. I completely forgot about this photo from the very first night. you may be are right I would not get as dark a sky with out a lot of effort this is just off the main road. it is enjoyable to see the images finally come to life I think that 200 shot is a reality and will allow for more detail.

Thank you Ko I still am thinking on how to align but fast loosing out. this is a part of the sky that is easy to see and one I want to try. If you relook at the LMC you will note the image is now all 130 shot done in Seqator so I have some hope.

Large Magellenic cloud

the horse head has always been my fav. Moon and high clouds at the moment and very strong winds. the hardest part is editing some photos on the net are over colour full but its a skill to learn.
