The Red Patch In the Southern Milky Way:- Carina Nebula
The night did not go well could not line up the tracker nearly gave up and came home after 3/4 hour just trying to set on the Octanes which I just could not see at all. I gave up in disgust but tried the unit out no matter what very happy the way the unit works. I can see this being much better tracked properly and stacking 30 shot First shots. Single shot 30 sec Iso 6400 @200MM

Looks like you nailed it to me Steve. You call this a failure. When you get this all perfect, it must be quite sonething else. No way we could get this clarity with normal 200mm without movement. A wobderful first attept here which I can see as the first of many. Very well done.

Thank you Herb but it did not sit well last night after all the practice, in the end I turned back to my Milky way photos to get this. you are right this blew me away and the LMC shot next door came out stunning I cant wait for next weekend. the gear worked and it was only my first time in the dark which is never easy as you know with new gear and ideas.

Hi Steve,

Like Herb says, this is a great success. We are so used to seeing pictures through telescopes like the Hubble that we forget that here we have a large set of pictures taken through a camera lens, similar (although probably better quality!) to what we all have, and cleverly combined together. I am very impressed!

The more shot combined the better but that also requires better set up to track better. Its a very shaky beginning. Many thanks for the encouragement to do better.

Thank you Toz for the encouragement very much learning and trying to perfect a methodolagie to get the photos. only been out twice with it. not helped by a non working correctly remote ( broken wire so is only working intermittently). It is a lot of fun and I can use a number of lens 50mm 105mm 70-200mm & I have tried my 150-600.

I hope to Ko I am going to take out a laser pointer to make the 4 stars stand out even if I cant 100% see them I can line the tracker up better. I will be a little disappointed if this is as good as I am going to get as I did want better quality than this. while I have taken again this single shot still is the best so I have not added a newer version.
