Goodness knows what they're about, Gudrun. I didn't look up at any of the other street lamps to see if this effect was there in all of them.

Hello Amelia and Sarah just to jump in again here on Sarah's comment as she has about hit the nail on the head .. of course the colours are not part of the glass design and would not be seen at any other time but for the fact Amelia took this shot in lovely sunshine so that the glass of the lamp has acted as a "prism" and made the White light of of the Sun turn into colours as it changes wavelenth inside the glass ... as a rainbow does with water droplets :))
