Smart cephalopod
As part of our group reunion, we visited the National Marine Science Centre where we were given a conducted tour. I was fascinated to learn that invertebrates do not have brains similar to vertebrates, but still can be surprisingly clever: this octopus has just removed the screw cap (note) from a jar containing food (note). Our dogs would not even contemplate trying! Of course, a musical link helps. :-)
