The epic battle of the Plastic Ocean

The epic battle of the Plastic Ocean
Contribution for The Sunday Challenge #400: Fairy tale

The Catfish Pirates from the less developed Tor had no choice but to continue their unethical line of business. Either they would hack Trackball Mouse's Bluetooth connection and social media account, or Trackball Mouse would hover them and drag them to the trash bin.

Inspired by Mikko Metsähonkala.

Contribution for The 50 Images-Project: Still Life 38/50

Ode to all crazy things one can do with reusable plastic bags. However, don't try that at home! Try switch to cotton reusable bags instead to avoid polluting our water sources with micro plastic ;-)

Gudrun, Old Owl, Berny, Heidiho and 37 other people have particularly liked this photo

Lovely creation and story.

Well, I have to buy a cotton bag then. Don't know what the environmental costs are of producing that and I have to wash it from time to time. I prefer to use a backpack or a double plastic bag which is over 20 years old.

Unfortunately, microplasty can already be found in almost all waters, animals and humans ...
Nevertheless, the increasing and sometimes very creative ideas for reuse of plastic are inspiring and give hope.
In every respect a worthy contribution to the Challenge "Fairy tale"!

Yes, you're right!
But it's serious! Already here in Switzerland, the water source of europe, there are partly precarious contaminations of the groundwater by plastics!

As far as I know, car tires are the worst. Plastic used on them goes totally unfiltered to the ground water, rivers, lakes and sea with rain water. Then all the modern textiles used on clothes is also bad. Even if the house hold waste water would become cleaned, the micro plastics are difficult to filter. New inventions have been made, but to get them into use takes time.

It's about time that we invent beaming! ;-)

Or "jaunting". Then the limitation of course is that one first would have to get familiar with locations and coordinates away from Earth.

It's very serious. It's a real disaster into which humanity has maneuvered itself through thoughtlessness, voracious greed for money and lavish consumption at the expense of the poorest and weakest...
Ruthlessness against man and nature never pays off.
It will be a painful lesson, but I hope and rely on the reason and learning ability of people.

So we can destroy the next planet...? ;)
Here and now we should learn what means self-responsibility and co-responsibility. ;)

Good point, * ઇઉ *! So, when inventing 'beaming' one should limit it to a certain distance. From Home to office and back, for instance ;-)

Thanks, polytropos. "Beaming" does not have to be reinvented, it's omnipresent - in many ways and mostly in unhealthy concentration. ;)

Impressive the drawings of Mikko Metsähonkala, I only wonder about the name of the "Dordrecht" Humanphone by Lauri Supponen, Dordrecht is a small town In Holland I know quite well.

Brilliant- story and photo!
So true about the plastic and I guess we all contribute... I don't buy fleece clothing any longer but I did in the past and still wear it. Throwing it away would only export the problem somewhere else...
