Was the weather that dramatic or was it just threatening?

There was thunderstorms on forecast, but none appeared. The image is slightly exaggerated, to increase contrasts locally a little (so called HDR effect on Snapseed). Heavy rain started few moments later though.

I think the best drama comes from the change. So, there has to be some comparison between heavy and fair weather. So, if for example a theater play is full of action from the very beginning until the end, one could claim there is no drama =D

And of course on a photograph the amount of light is always a relative concept. Dark looks dark based on the exposure.

That IS dramatic. I like the the layer of light sandwiched between the black and grey clouds, and reflected in the water.

i love square photos (i learned photography on a Rollei twin lens reflex camera way back when), clouds, rainclouds, water, contrasts - so i must love this photo - and I do!
