I discovered a nice feature on Snapseed mobile phone app. Surprisingly there is a similar paint tool to add or remove the effect selectively as there is on PicMonkey:

Well, actually nothing particular on this shot, but for example one can do selective colors on black and white. What I demonstrate on caption is not very visible because the image is monochromatic anyway.

very cool photo. you'd think yet another human selfie shadow would get boring, but you keep finding great new ways to make it unique. you have a great eye.

and now i have to try out snapseed! i usually do everything in lightroom, but having something new to try on the phone will be helpful.

I love Snapseed! I haven't seen the feature you're showing, but most of them are of good quality and some even unusual (changing perspective, for one!). However, the problems I have are: 1) I cannot see the tiny photo on my phone well enough to be sure what I've done. The developers will have the same problem when they're past the age of 50. 2) When I like what I see, it often doesn't look as good on Ipernity. 3) I am not able to download it to my laptop, even though I've seen there are a couple of complicated - for me - ways to do it. There are mixed reviews about whether this is even successful.

And I assume you have noticed the two finger pinch gesture to zoom in to edit the details?

I guess I should test and write some more detailed Snapseed article...
