Indeed - your main picture here, it looks so strange: such a large "tower" only because of a watch. The dimension I didn't imagine in the pics before (50 images ...)

Today the tower also works as a link tower, but when it was built in 1937, it's main purposes were to literary provide a landmark (easy to find the train station), work as a clock tower, and space for advertisements.

I am glad it seem to be accessible to public. Most of the local Aamulehti newspaper articles requires a paid subscription.

Thanks for the link - really interesting. Specially: they started to build this train dtation 80 years before. Just now we here in Germany celebrate "100 years Bauhaus". It seems: some of the Bauhaus-Style found it's way to Tampere ...
