I wonder if this is also OK in cooking or salads? I have been put off by some wild garlics that have been SO powerful that even a smidgeon has destroyed a carefully prepared salad!

I think I would find it too strong for salads Andy, but definitely OK for cooking. Soups would take it well I'm sure. Thanks for your kind comments.

Cracking shot of the delicate little flower Rosa. We have masses of wild garlic growing in our forge valley and raincliffe woods where it carpets the forest floor. It is a wonderful sight when in flower but when conditions are right the aroma can be a little overpowering!

Things you have ... first needed to read the wikipedia about it. Home in western mediterranean. It's not known here in east central europe (at least not to me). But, same as Doug mentioned up there: we have masses of Allium ursinum and had just yesterday pancakes with it. :-)
But it's not in bloom yet.
Beautiful captured.

It grows well in Ninespring Country Park Leon. It has a microclimate and as the name suggests....nine springs ;-)) Well done with the foraging!

Thank you Joe. These have stronger and bigger flowers than the usual carpets of garlic flowers you find in the woods. Although I guessed by their smell they were from the same family, I had to look the name up. This is when PlantNet is very handy. Cheers, Rosa.

A nice capture Rosalyn, the rear of the flower makes a more interesting picture than the face, I have no idea what the 'skin' that covered the bud is called but it makes a nice addition to the image
