Ooh, that's a good one - although I'm not in favor of drowning!

Many thanks, Diane. I'm against drowning too and if I see anyone doing it I will report them.

Two things. The lens of my little pocket Lumix and the porthole. See note top right.

Looks like drowned and then frozen;-) How did you do it?

I just pressed the shutter button ;-)
I had the lens up against a porthole looking into the port side paddle chamber on the PS Waverley.
The pinkish bit in the middle of the image is the centre of the paddle wheel looking outwards as it was thrashing its way across the Thames estuary. I think the black bits are part of the framework holding the paddle assembly.

You have me, Neil. Reflections?

You surprise me George. I would have thought you would soon put 2 and 2 together ;-)
I am sure there are some reflections included but no doubt there is much distortion due to the thickness of the glass and the splashing salt water. I tried to provide a little clarity in my reply to Gudrun, above.

Well spotted and taken Sir..!! I would never have guessed without reading your explanation to Gudrun. Very clever and certainly a talking point.

I am also somewhat relieved that you didn't actually drown or freeze anyone..........................

Many thanks for taking the time to say you did not recognise a maritime scene, Keith. Also I would like to assure you that I have not drowned anyone since joining Ipernity.
