Had to wait quite awhile for it to settle long enough to get off some shots -

Wonderful photos of the butterflies, Peggy. I saw my second monarch of the year yesterday in the garden, but it was on its way to somewhere else, so I didn't get a photo.

Monarchs - all across North Carolina have been scarce this year.
All these were found at a Down the Road Garden !

Wonderful shots (all). Lovely compositions, beautiful colors, and nice sharpness. Great that you have butterflies. This year, apart from a few skippers and a couple of bees, I had only one monarch and recently was able to get one cloudless sulphur after observing it fly around and go up to the top of the trees for almost one hour before in landed for a few seconds on a flower.
