Lifer !
A Long-tailed Skipper [ (Urbanus proteus) ] ..
Know they are in North Carolina ..
But, usually East of the Piedmont where I am ..
I get the Carolina Leps ( Lepidoptera ) newsletter with butterfly counts by county ..
Still can't find this one in any count ..
When I first joined Carolina Leps, I commented to a fellow that I had trouble with ID-ing Skippers ..
He urged me that it was possible !
This one ..
Not a problem at all ..
But, the Thread-waisted wasp ..
Had to look that one up (new for me) ..
And the other critter on the right ..
No clue..
Lots of them around though.
This is brought to you courtesy of one of our own, Pam J ...
She gifted the False Sunflower seeds ..
Her 'Sunnies' have been a magnet ..
Thank you, My Deah ..
