this Dogwood tree is beside two very healthy ones -
this one didn't have many bracts/leaves/or red berries -
all have been treated the same -
perhaps, as one neighbor said " they die and we don't know why" -
even the Agriculture agent couldn't suggest anything else to do --

so, as there are signs of future growth amid what looks like it is going side-ways -
we shall wait -

Good shot.
We love Dogwoods. Planted one in the backyard and it never added a leaf. The man says they don't do well down here.

Sometimes in ties of drought or heat.... one will die where there are others. There simply isnt enough of whatever... to go around.

Its the ultimate sacrifice.

Dogwoods are my favorite tree. I put one in at the one house I bought a decade or so ago, then almost immediately had to sell the house and move to another town. I drive by every once in a while. The tree's going strong.
