Cette basilique du 19 eme siècle fut commencée en 1881 et achevée le 29 mars 1900, pour être consacrée le 29 mars 1909 par monseigneur Dupuch .
En 2010, un projet de restauration est entrepris, financé par l'Algérie, la France et un don personnel de Benoît XVI La basilique rénovée est inaugurée le 19 octobre 2013 .

This basilica of the 19th century was begun in 1881 and completed on March 29, 1900, to be consecrated on 29 March 1909 by Monseigneur Dupuch.
In 2010, a restoration project was undertaken, financed by Algeria, France and a personal donation from Benedict XVI. The renovated basilica was inaugurated on October 19, 2013.
