A Room With A View! (PiPs)

Captured at Bettyhill and this is one of my favourite views with beautiful beaches and rivers, and lush grazing for the sheep, a few of which seem to have claimed this ruined building as their own!!

The river directly in front of you is the River Naver and it is joined by the River Borgie on the other side of the sandbar as they both flow into Torresdale Bay. The beach is Torresdale Beach.

A peaceful scene that makes me happy, - and I wish you all a Happy Fence Friday and a good weekend.

As these lucky sheep have wonderful views from their 'home' I have added a song called

As this is in 16.9 this is probably best viewed large for the best effect.

Colores, luz y nitidez, destacables. Llamativo tan vasto paisaje y ni una casa, lo cual me agrada mucho, más que vivir entre bloques de hormigón y aplastado por los rascacielos. En ciertas partes de la península se habla de la España vaciada, pueblos sin servicios, por efecto llamada de lugares más industrializados. No sé si en UK pasará algo similar, Carol.

Thank you very much for your kind comments Jose. Those are the reasons we enjoy this part of Scotland too. We both love peace and quiet, nature and empty beaches and this is for us a perfect escape. At home we live in a fairly quiet part of the town but it is in Scotland I feel I can breathe!

I imagine that will happen everywhere sadly Jose. Already here services are centralised so you need to travel miles for hospital visits etc. As we get older I wonder if it would hold up arrival of emergency services, ambulances etc. We can only hope it doesn't.

a very pleasing composition to the eye, and also very clever with the stone wall coming from the diagonal, the sheeps gives sense of dimensions, there is something magic in this shot, maybe the light, maybe the sea color, maybe the curved shores, specilaly the sand one in the middle of the shot or perhaps all together

Thank you very much Judite. Yes you are right - from the E M Forster novel of the same name. The 1985 adaptation starred Maggie Smith and Helena Bonham Carter and I seem to remember Dame Judi Dench had a part in it. I was surprised to find the song of the same name by Paul MacCartney though.

Thank you very much Roger. I am particularly pleased you like this image as it is the place that stuck in my memory from a previous visit years before. We had gone from the majestic grandeur of Glencoe and the area seemed a lit flat to me until we found Bettyhill and it blew me away.
I have to say I totally misjudged the area and am so pleased we came back. I am also pleased you likied the link - I was really surprised to find this recording!
