Thanks, Steve! I suppose it is, but then nobody is up there! There's a hut at the foot of the mountain used by rangers and scientists, but you need superjeeps to get there in winter, roads are all closed to the public.

Danke vielmals, Werner! Wir hatten Glück, da reinzukönnen, vorher waren die Strassen noch wegen Schnee gesperrt, danach ein Erdrutsch und dann die Bardarbunga-Eruption und wieder alles gesperrt....

Großen Dank, Tanja! So einen Touch von Ragnarök hat das dort schon, der Parkplatz ist genau dort, wo der Vulkan 1963 zuletzt (harmlos) ausgebrochen ist;-) Und in das Explosionsmaar, in dem manche Touris baden, ist zwei Wochen nach unserem Besuch ein durch Erdrutsch ausgelöster Tsunami reingeschwappt, das war zum Glück nachts!

Ich habe einfach jeweils zuwenig Filter dabei, damit man solche Himmel auch ansprechend aufnehmen kann ;-)
Filtermässig bin ich eh etwas karg bestückt, aber klar, heutzutage kann/könnte man das alles auch nachträglich noch erledigen. Ist zwar oft aufwändiger, als wenn man grad den passenden Filter hätte.

Ich habe auch noch keine Filter bis auf Polfilter, die aber in Island nicht so oft sinnvoll sind. Weniger aufwändig ist es mit Filtern sicher nicht, du musst die Filterhalter aufschrauben und rumfummeln, das dauert auch;-) Und am besten noch mit Stativ... Ich mache immer RAW und entwickle dann in Lightroom, dazu hier noch Silver Efex Pro für die SW Bearbeitung.
