Saturday Night
The Easy Riders (Terry aka Hamilton Gilkyson, Frank Miller and Richard Dehr) were first to record "Everybody Loves Saturday Night" (Arthur Podell). The single is from the 1957 album "Marianne And Other Songs You'll Like". This may have been based on a Lord Kitchener (Aldwyn Roberts) calypso song.
Arranged by Hugo Montenegro The New Christy Minstrels "Saturday Night" hit the top thirty in 1963 with the distinctive voice of Barry McGuire. This was eventually on the album "The Wandering Minstrels". A few of the noted members over the years were actress Karen Black, Barry McGuire, Kim Carnes, Gene Clark, Kenny Rogers, Mike Settle, Jerry Yester, Larry Ramos and Keith Barbour.
