Somebody Loves Me
This is the composer's recording of "Somebody Loves Me" (Gershwin - MacDonald - DeSylva). George Gershwin wrote this for "George White's Scandals of 1924". Gershwin wrote songs for this revue for five consecutive years and left the revue in this year in a money dispute with George White. It was later in 1924 that brother Ira became his writing partner.
Toronto quartet, The Four Lads (Bernie Toorish, Jimmie Arnold, Frank Busseri and Connie Codarini) with Mitch Miller's Orchestra covered "Somebody Loves Me" in 1952 and hit the top twenty. This was one of their twenty-eight chart singles during the fifties.
