Actually this shot was taken a couple of weeks ago. I took the last three fruit off the tree yesterday. In the background is a white rose bush.

What with 100s of neighbours and all my brother-in-law's bar-mates turning up with empty crates to fill, it is surprising that there were any left for us, let alone you, Roland! Sorry!! :o)
But pleased you like the photo!

With my tree in Harrow, Middlesex (near London), it fruited successfully about one year in three. But when it did (ie. no late frosts and a warm and fairly dry June and July), the fruit was wonderful (similar in size, colour and sweetness to nectarines!), but you had to wait until August (as I did also with my two fig trees!).

Yes the home-grown ones are always sweeter and (as I have found out) the skin is less hairy!

I have always thought when I have been to Spain, how nice it must be to pick oranges and lemons and apricots from a tree. I do have apples and plums, so lots of tarts and crumbles! Even the fig tree is looking good this year. A lovely picture Andy.

We're somewhat too far north for citrus fruit but apricots, figs and nisperos (japanese loquats - delicious!) are rife about now!

Oh I love apricots and to be able to pick them off a tree in your garden must be bliss. My daughter has lemons, oranges, pomegranates in her garden, she loves the smell of the orange blossom in the early part of the year.

Nor was I for many years, Keith until I inherited a tree in a garden in Harrow in the mid '80s and the fruit was superb (as are these!) - a far cry from the tart, hard and hairy apologies for fruit we too often see in the shops in Blighty!

Yes! It's something I had to get used to when I moved to Spain over 10 years ago! Their main harvest for fruit and veg is in May!!!! Up till then, I had always thought of September, October as harvest time! Not here!!!

Looks good enough to eat! Lovely light and colours here, Andy.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Roger Bennion club
Ha ha!
I've had more than my fill of them these past couple of weeks and there are maybe only a dozen or so now in the fridge.
As I mentioned to Nora above, it took a while to get used to the fact that our UK harvest season fruit and veg. is, for the most part here, in May!!!
Many thanks, Roger!
