Dear all,
This is a copy of a message I composed on my previous upload yesterday, to Keith Burton but I think I should make it wider known.
...suddenly tonight I was unable to upload photos. I have my photos stored on my external hard drive. I can only upload them to my old laptop. This was deliberate, to separate work and pleasure so to speak. Suddenly I am asked for my sign in password and it wasn't recognised. I faced the same nonsense some of us faced a while back and I now have no way of associating my photos with ipernity. I don't have the ability to be able to associate my photos whith my new laptop, partly because it has been decided that I need to keep unnecessary frippery such as ipernity (not my choice of words, I can assure you!), away from my work stuff.
I have uploaded one photo since then but this is from a very limited supply of unedited photos that were accidentally loaded onto my new laptop. Most of them aren't worth uploading to ip.
This may well be goodbye. I hope not. I'm so busy right now that I haven't got the time to resolve it.
All I want is to be able to wind down after a hard day by posting some photos and viewing other members uploads but that, amazingly, seems to be the hardest thing in the world to do right now.
Yours, head down in a bowl of gazpacho, Andy
Ps. if I do find some more passable unedited photos on this, my new computer, then I will upload one or two from time to time!

Yet another of your beautiful landscape photos Andy - but I am really sorry to hear about your problems with the computer. I too had problems and have therefore not thrown out my old computers, just in case someone, somehow, sometime manages to download them for me from the old ones. I recently bought a "PhotoStick" which is amazing. You just plus it into your computer and it searches everywhere, on the computer, in other sites (in the ether!) or maybe on other programmes you've used and it collects all the photos and videos. There is no programme to download - it just says press button to start, which you do and it does it all itself. I suggest you go into settings first and click the button that says not to download duplicates - I didn't do that, and now have the unenviable task of going through it all to delete the duplicates!!!!

Thank you for your sympathy, Jenny.
I haven't lost the photos, they are all on my external hard drive. It's just that I can't open ipernity any more on my old laptop, for some reason. I therefore can't edit nor upload photos for the time being, until I sort it out.
I have seen, however, that I still have a handful of OK-ish shots I can upload from the few that did accidentally get onto my new laptop, and will do so from time to time. They will be unedited but then, that's OK for a refreshing change! I have some new material I was going to download last night but that has to wait.
Best wishes,
Andy

What an impressive view, it seems that not many plants grow here... It makes me think to our French region "Larzac".

There is acrually a good variety of plant life in between the rocks! Many thanks!

I'm not sure what the answer wil lbe and I'm far to busy to spend time on it right now, sadly. I will occasionally post from my unedited photos, a few of which escaped to my new (non-photos) laptop. But they aren't many and most aren't good enough.

A fine landscape, Andy. Very sorry to hear of your tech issues - gadgetry is great when it works properly, but when it doesn't...........!! Best wishes for some relaxation over the weekend.

Hi Andy

I really like this pic.

Sorry to hear of your problem. I suspect it is incompatability between the browser in your old laptop, and some upgrade somebody has done to ipernity..
I am sure a simple workaround is possible for you.....

Best Wishes, and a good weekend

Thank you for your positivism, Peter!
But I'm so hopeless with IT that I will need to ask for help I think. I'm so bad with it that one girl at work, years ago, gave me the moniker `Techno-king!' (bless her).
Best wishes and have a good weekend too,
Andy

Don't let them grind you down Andy. It is a shame but you may need to shut Ipernity completely down and then start again which I know would be awful after building up such an excellent gallery!!!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Jeff Farley
The thing is Jeff that it works perfectly well on my new laptop - it is just that I can't upload to it from my external hard drive (this was done deliberately - well, it was decided on my behalf that it would be best for me to keep work and pleaure separate!).
I don't think I need to shut it down completely - I might simply have to associate my external hard drive to my new laptop regardless of what has been decided by my better half and personal organiser!!!!!

Andy Rodker club has added
On the other hand, since google no longer supports Picasa and I can't therefore install it on my new compouter I have another problem as all my photos are in the cloud with Picasa 3 (but of course also on my external hard drive). I feel sure there must be a way round this!

Dramatic scenery, Andy. If I was to hazard a guess, I'd say the majority of plants here are xerophytes.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Amelia club
There are a few, mainly prickly pear, but mostly lavender, cistus, rosemary, oyster plant, lots of holm oaks, a few scots pine, broom, bramble, gladioli, peony, wild tulips and wild dwarf daffodils, numerous different grasses, in fact a surprisingly wide variety of plant types.
Thank you, Amelia!
