    Heute (bzw. bereits am 10.12.) nahm meine Katze Noisy Abschied von dieser Welt, sie befindet sich jetzt in einer neuen, anderen Welt, eine Welt ohne Krebs, ohne Hunger und ohne Schmerzen. Noisy, lass dir gesagt sein, du warst eine besondere Katze. Du halfst mir nicht nur über die Trauerphase hinweg, die ich nach dem Tod meines ersten Kater Pauly hatte (seinerseits der erste Braun-Weiße Siamkater mit Befugnis auf die Menschentoilette zu gehen), nein, du hast auch den zunächst etwas störrischen Kater erzogen, den ich dir eines Tages, ohne dich vorher um deine Erlaubnis zu fragen vor die Nase gesetzt habe. Du hast mich begrüsst, wenn ich abends nach Hause kam oder mich mit Mauen verabschiedet, als ich die Wohnungstür hinter mir verschloß.

    I was crazy in love with Mighty Mouse when I was 5.. I wanted to marry him.. I didn't know you couldn't marry a cartoon. Or a mouse for that matter. The plant in front of my desk is high and leans sideways.     Well yesterday was a day of many firsts ................. It was the first time since my brain haemorrhage that I drove more than 10 miles at any one time. I should have 'zeroed' the thingumajig on the speedometer to see exactly how far we went - but by a rough guess I would say around 125 miles.     Isabella Bird (15.10.1831 - 7.10.1904) war eine englische Reiseschriftstellerin und Naturforscherin. Ein interessantes Leben - Tochter eines Pastors, verheiratet mit einem schottischen Arzt (John Bishop) - sie bereiste u.a. Australien, Hawaii, Japan und China, besuchte die Rocky Mountains. Nach dem Tod ihres Mannes studierte sie Medzin und war missionarisch tätig. Sie starb in Edinburgh und liegt dort im Dean Cemetery begraben. Eine interessante Frau.     Last week in Rocky View County, Alberta a farmer was getting ready to harvest his fields and lost control of his machine hitting a 240,000 Volt Transmission tower that comes from the Nexen Oil Plant North of Calgary, Alberta and heads down toward Langdon, Alberta. The tower fell and he got scared and jumped off his machine trying to run when he got electrocuted when walking on the ground that was energized from the fallen wires.
