Terrific news for all those who love ipernity and who have hung in there despite the uncertainty over recent months.

A huge thank you then most definitely to Christophe and the IMA for managing to resolve their initial differences and come up with a proposal acceptable to both sides, but also to everyone who have given the negotiations their support be that financial or otherwise.

I'm sure that if we're honest there have been times when each and everyone of us has questioned if this day would ever arrive, but it has so let's celebrate! :)

Just wanting to add...

Its the first big step.. we have a way to go yet.... but we have ALWAYS been on the members side.

The whole process is unbelievably a rough one at times (as any negotiation is) .. but its a step by step.. and sometimes email by email path. Sometimes 20-30 emails a day/night ... corrections.. additions... 3 languages...5 time zones spread over 9 hours difference .. French Law .... some IMA members have major full time jobs but they ALWAYS found / find time to work at this Ipernity project.

Please keep your faith in us the IMA , we are all on the same side. Step by step and day by day

So what does this translate to in terms of the duration of my subscription. Any idea when you guys plan to void everything and turn it all over? If you don't know, any idea when you might? Under the old regime, I'm paid up through September. Am I going to lose those August and September?

Here you will find information regarding Club Subscriptions
From what I see the IMA will honour only recent Subscriptions. I have not seen any Info on your type of situation. My guess is that your subs belong to IP/SA and will not be transferred to IMA.
I could be wrong but that is my understanding. Maybe best to confirm with William what your situation is.

Yeah, I don't figure they're going to honor regular subscriptions, though at this point, things have been going on so long that I don't see the benefit of the ill will they'd generate to screw people out of a month or two. I'm just curious about when they're going to get to it, and how long I have.

I asked a question about timing, as I'd think we're at the point now where the timing of things might be known.

I'd say I'm sorry that you're too sensitive to handle a simple question about the timing of a business decision on an internet forum from somebody you obviously don't like for some random reason, but really, I'm not sorry at all. This is your problem, not mine.

But it's nice to see the much vaunted community spirit that makes Ipernity so ... special ... come once more to the fore. With such a welcoming group of people, the site can't help but succeed! GO TEAM!

Other necessary legal processes will follow.

Until the IMA are hands on I guess in the short term The IMA team are limited to what the software allows them to do. Until such times as and when we have IT skills to draw on I cannot see major changes to the workings of Ipernity from what it already is.
For me personally my impression of late is the photo sharing industry is becoming stagnant and I do not mean just Ipernity but all the sharing sites, uploads are very much predictable and needs some inventive ideas that will appeal to many users. My example would be the countless number of groups at members disposal, they are all originally an idea of one person but very few groups have captured the imagination of large numbers of members. I am sure the team have many ideas and suggestions already passed to them and no doubt will share with us once they are in charge.

Certainly for now and into the immediate future there wil be no changes to the site. It would involve professional people to be paid to do that and we do not have that money. For now the site WILL be maintained.

I raised a ticket last night (20th July 2017) at about 2230 BST. No reply as yet.
As has already been said - by William Sutherland and PamJ - Christophe Ruelle has been made aware that there is a problem.
IMA has no control over the Ipernity platform, nor over problem resolution.

Well seen, Jaap, quite the same symptom. Additional issue is that now we can't upload new photos. What, hopefully, has the same origin and could only result from a communication issue with AWS which C. Ruelle has identified.

It was actually AWS's error.. NOT Christophe's

They did not correctly transfer an agreement one AWS person to another AWS person . They have apologised.

There was NO warning as it was not even supposed to have happened

Apologies are ok but they do not repair the damage, this incident may well have tipped the balance of those who were unsure to say enough is enough and will go.
This was a very unwelcome error on Amazons behalf which may well have cost the IMA future business.

An answer to the Grace period question (have posted to those who asked above already but also posting it here )

Yes we are expecting we can work in a Grace period to pay the subscriptions . We are hoping to make it that they need to be paid within a month of take over. We would have liked to have made it longer.. but it really is not financially viable.

Exact period of time and dates will be posted at takeover when we can supply the payment site details etc

I'm assuming that at the point of takeover IMA will begin posting things on the front page of ipernity so communication will be easier for people to notice.

Once we have control of the site we will be able to post things in the Blog etc.

We will also be able to start on learning how Explore works and be able to get rid of Spam.

All I will add to that is nothing will be easy.. and the learning curve will be hard and it will not happen in a day or a week.

Most people will understand that .

The problem then seemed to vanish fairly quickly....

Difficult to tell people things that have vanished.

It THEN re-appeared a couple of times for a short period over the late day/night... intermittently.

As of when I finally shut down at 1am CDT it had not come back.

AS YOU ARE ALL AWARE... we do not have control of the site.

The problem... whatever it was / is

WAS PASSED ON TO CR

PLEASE ALSO NOTE .... at this point (and no.. we do not know) it IS very possible the problem is outside the site. It is certainly not affecting everyone.. or it wasn't...

Sorry folks.. that is the best information I can give
