Great photo of these amazing trees.

The word "magical" describes this scene perfectly. I love the shapes of the trees especially against the sky. The light is just glorious and I also like the long shadows. It's good to have some people in shot for scale.

I heard once that the baobab came to Madagascar on the boats of maritime aborigines from Australia. This seems unlikely on a number of fronts, not least the fact that there are nine species of baobab in Madagascar and only one in Australia,

I suspect the other way round…or rather that tides carried the seeds to Australia, Andy. Both countries in the far distant past were parts of Gondwana, so have been closer together too, prehistorically!
