Plenty of places to sit with a picnic, George. I fancy becoming a grey nomad, but I'm not keen on caravans.

Interesting facilities George. I had a closer look at it on Google Streetview. Are the four elevated tanks (behind the road sign) holding fresh water? HBM and best wishes for the new week.

Thanks for your visit, David. I don't think there are four tanks, but they would indeed be for water. This is largely intended to provide for mandatory rest stops for long distance road trains (apart from the passing motorists).

An interesting shot here George and I have mixed views about the Grey Nomads and places like this. As an x-caravan owner myself I was often dismayed at seeing big empty car-parks with facilities, in the middle of nowhere, often in beautiful spots, banning overnight caravans and seeing caravans having to drive miles further along narrow roads in order to find a little layby to stop the night. Much better to have a low limit on a number of caravans if room allows for one night only. - I spy the picnic table and bench. Well done.

Thank you for this comment, Herb. This roadside stop is primarily intended for mandatory rest stops by long distance road trains, hence there is a substantial parking area. It's not too far into the town, where there are caravan parks available.
