At that time I also crossed a river with the Ghan from Adelaide to Alice Springs, but I don't remember its name.
But it was a great Event in this train, which was celebrated with applause...

Obviously you were much better at driving straight over an unsided bridge than my middle brother who many years ago drove off a very similar bridge and buried his mini in the side of a creek between Townsville and Rockhampton. After 11 hours trapped he and his unhurt passenger were rescued; seriously injured he was repatriated but we never let him drive again!!
