A fine view of a favourite town Rosa. I like your view of the church that somehow omits the old Abbey. Great internal capture too of an inside that I don't think I have the pleasure of seeing. well done.

Enjoy the weekend. herb

Thank you very much Herb. The inside of the church is very interesting. I wish I had taken more pictures! It wasn't what I was expecting at all. Most of the pews were gated which I think is unusual. I like it, and maybe you will go inside next time you visit.

Have a good weekend. Cheers, Rosa.

A lovely littoral scene, Rosa. The colours of the roofs contrast perfectly with the beautiful blue sky. Did you encounter Dracula during your sojourn in Whitby? LOL. Cheers, Joe

Thank you very much Joe. It was far too light to encounter Dracula. LOL.

A beautifully sharp and detailed imaged captured under a wonderful sky. The church looks very imposing up there on the top of the cliffs.............and I like the look of all the houses, which seem to have been built almost on top of each other. The stone quay looks superb.

A smashing interior shot in the PiP..........nicely composed and exposed as well. I love the wood beams in the roof and the two white columns. The lectern looks very impressive.

Keep 'em coming Rosa..........I'm enjoying these views from "oop North".

Thank you very much Keith. I think this was my favourite view in the town. The houses along the coastline don't look that old. One thing is for sure, they all have a sea view!!

Hi Rosa
A wonderful and interesting picture, which I like very much!
Very nice composition
Great colours too.
I am always fascinated by the views here, and you have captured them so well..
I know there are some fences over by the houses.. www.ipernity.com/doc/2247998/47025478
So I guess this counts for HFF
Best Wishes, (slightly late) HFF, a nice weekend, and stay safe!!

A lovely scene and a beautiful sky, Rosa. I've never been here, but associate Whitby with Captain Cook who became a sailor while living there.

Thank you George. Unfortunately I didn't manage to see the statue of Captain Cook.
One to look out for if I am able to visit the town again.

This village between land and sea is a magnificent sight, with its houses nicely aligned and homogeneous, huddled together as if to protect each other from the rigours of the sea.
The view and the perspective are really beautiful and the interior view particularly interesting.
Best wishes my friend!

Thank you very much for your kind comments dear Eric. There was so much to see that was of interest to me, in just a day, so I hope I can visit Whitby again sometime. The interior of the church was very interesting and quite unlike any I had seen before.
Sunday greetings my friend and a good week ahead.

This is the perfect and classic Whitby view and you caught it in beautiful light! Your interiour photo of St. Mary's church is well done! I remember this church as overly "furnished" and I didn't get any decent photos...

A fine composition of this classic view of the eastern side of Whitby Rosa. The light on the cottages and the Tate Hill Pier highlights the red roofs of the buildings and the sandstone of the pier beautifully. The sky is a magnificent backdrop for this wonderful view.I like your interior shot from The Church of Saint Mary. I have no interior shots, I always seem to be there at the most crowded times!

Enjoy your weekend
