You have certainly see Scarborough with different eyes to me Rosa. A blast from the past here, I presume you gave it a go as if I remember, its quite a steep drop to the beach from the top.

Cheers. Herb

Two wonderfully sharp and detailed shots Rosa...........the colours are really lovely and both scenes have a really cheery feel to them. I love the name of that café!

It could almost be the middle of summer, if there were more people about!

Oh, I'd like to have a tramway to the beach. But that would have to be a very looong tramway from Karlsruhe, unless it's a beach on the Rhine river :-)

I'm delighted by charming Scarborough, Rosa!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Edna Edenkoben club
I have to admit that I was surprised and delighted that Scarborough was such a charming place. Unfortunately I didn't travel on this tramway, but I did go on the funicular railway at the other end of the promenade several times. I was like a kid....I loved it ;-)
Yes yours would have to be very loooong Edna ;-))

A wonderful example of Victorian engineering. The name of the cafe can only be described as unusual !! I hope you have a nice weekend Rosalyn

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Peter Castell club
I was told that there used to be three funicular railways in Scarborough, but I think there are just two now. Yes a great example of Victorian engineering.
Thank you Peter and I hope you also have a good weekend.

The more I see of Scarborough, the more I realise that we should have taken time to visit when we were in the area, but I was set on seeing puffins at Bempton, so the town was put on a back burner. Maybe next time we'll get to take the tram. :-)

There are bottleneck dolphins in the bay at Scarborough Amelia. We watched them for quite a while.

Another of those childhood memories there Rosa. Two old pence (2d) was the one-way fare back in the 1960s era. My Dad often stumped up the fare when we returned from the beach but on the way to the beach, when we were probably too full of energy and it was downhill, we walked down the zig-zag!

A lovely memory David. The price has gone up a little bit, but still very cheap to use.

A fine shot of the tramway building in the shadow of the Grand Hotel Rosa, it looks very smart these days. The shot of the other side of the building is interesting in that at one time this area was a bit of a mess but someone has made a nice job of cleaning it up. I like the reflection of the two people in the window of the Gallery, which used to be a ladies hairdresser by the way!

Enjoy your day

Thank you Doug. It's really good to get information from someone who knows. I found Scarborough to be very clean and although there were a lot of dogs being walked along the beach it was perfectly clean.

All the best, Rosa.
