A cracking shot of this impressive looking steam train Rosa............and the station looks very nice too. I like the trainspotters milling around the engine, you always get a good crowd when a train like this is around.

I love the close up shot in the PiP, the black and red livery looks superb, and I like the distorted reflections you've captured. Super cloudage (and steam) too.

Thank you very much Keith. Not as many stations on the route as the West Somerset Railway, but very enjoyable all the same. Pickering and Grosmont Railway Stations are beautifully kept.
I kept the camera shooting as the train chugged towards me to make sure I got a good few shots :-))

Thank you Edna. I love them too. I remember in my home town station I knew all the staff there when I was a teenager, and they were always very cheerful. My eldest daughter has travelled many parts of Germany by train for work purposes, and enjoyed the experience.

Oh, that's fun. I grew up in a mid-size town and although the train station wasn't huge, I didn't know all the staff...although back then we lived right across from the station :-)

I wonder if your daughter would still enjoy traveling across Germany by train...nowadays the trains are notoriously late. Or they don't show up at all!! ;-))

I am of course very pleased with your kind comments on these two pictures, as your steam train shots are always so beautiful. I did ride from Pickering to Grosmont on the diesel train, which was a little disappointing, but the beautiful journey made up for it. I enjoyed Grosmont very much before our journey to Whitby.
