Very interesting, Rosa, there is very little difference in the buildings over the years.

I love these Now and then shots, here the war memorial has been added and the housing estate on the hill behind but little else has changed, You positioned yourself well for this shot.

Thank you Maurice. The housing estate was built in the 1970's. Now and then is something that always interests me also.

Fascinating to see the very small changes as well as all the similarities.

The biggest change is the development in the background, but why when they occupy an old building can't Euronics have a nice painted sign instead of the bog standard plastic tat, the council don't help with that huge road sign it not a motorway

I totally agree Peter. When it was just Jerry's, he had a fitting sign. That big road sign could easily be smaller. It's mainly pointing to the racecourse. They have done that at the other end of town.

Nice comparison Rosa, great to still be able to have the chance. I agree with Peter regarding the imposition of modern 'corporate' shop signs and highways signage!

I agree with you and Peter. They have made a lot of signs on the outskirts smaller. I hope this will be the next one.

The steep street you can see between the buildings is also more or less the same but the amount of cars now make it very difficult to photograph nicely. There was also once a mill at the bottom of the street which is no longer there now.

Tell me, is the street going to the countyside the one we have talked about a certain time ago ... ? (had sent you a diaporama, remember?).
Love to see before and after photographs. There is someting warmer in the first one. Maybe all the people ... in peace and quiet ...?
Have a nice new week, dear Rosalyn.

The things that have changed most are the double yellow lines, signage, new lamp-post, cars and the lovely view to the right of the Post Office. There were more people around in the 'olden' days, but not much has changed. Lovely comparison.

An excellent pair of images Rosa. I like to see such comparisons showing how things have, and have not changed. My main hate is the double yellow lines everywhere. I know we have to control on-street parking but their has to be a better way, especially in our beautiful old towns and villages.

Best regards, Doug
