My wife found this beautiful little pocket watch in a charity shop quite some time ago and it lay forgotten in a drawer until I was rooting around looking for something to photograph. I was impressed by the lovely decoration of the case and the watch face. It is hallmarked sterling silver. In this image it is around three times life size! I've wound it up a little and it seems to be working, but it obviously needs a serious clean and service. If you view large you'll see some dust and hairs underneath the glass, as well as the gorgeous painted circle of flowers. I plan on taking it to a professional to have it looked at and see how expensive it will be to sort it out as we think it is something our granddaughter would like.

There is a large Houseboat community on the seafront at Shoreham-by-Sea, in West Sussex. Strangely they are situated almost immediately in front of a housing estate. I was going to walk over the bridge to get a closer look, but I've read that (probably quite rightly) the residents of the houseboats aren't keen on people gawking at them and taking photos. These are taken at 100mm (which was the longest zoom I had with me) and considerably cropped. Best viewed large, I think. The large vessel looks as if it's new to the site........ and it seems to having a lot of work done to it. Please check out the 2 PiPs if you have time :-)

An attractive and narrow side street in Topsham, Devon. I like exploring places like this. It was the flower bedecked bicycle that caught my eye.

Taken at the duck pond in Buriton, near Petersfield in Hampshire. We were sitting on a bench feeding the ducks and this female mallard obviously thought we weren't doing it fast enough :-)) She was happy to take duck food straight from my hand! Check out the PiP for a shot of her settling down to rest after a rather large lunch.

This photo was taken in my garden in mid May. The photo in the PiP was taken almost a month later. The same flower at different stages of it's lifecycle and both quite beautiful in their own way.

Trees on Southsea Common, Hampshire. The one at the front is a magnificent Canary Island Date Palm, which looks amazing.

Spotted these on one of the ponds in the Hilsea Lines (a nature reserve), Nr Portsmouth, Hampshire. Mum looked like she was having clean up, whilst the kids were snoozing in the sunshine.

Some more street art from the hoardings erected out the Lido at Hilsea, near Portsmouth, which is currently being refurbished. Three more photos in the PiPs if you want to look.

I spotted this gorgeous pink rose in someone's garden a while ago and couldn't resist leaning over the fence to take a photo of it.

Captured during a walk around Hilsea, near Portsmouth. Someone had thrown some bread in one of the ponds and this gull managed to get some before it ran out!

This blackbird was following my wife around the garden whilst she was mowing the lawn..........and it thought it had found a large, juicy orange worm :-)))

Just trying something different. Low tide at Emsworth Harbour, Hampshire yesterday afternoon. These are patterns left in the seaweed when the tide receded. Shot looking directly down from the sea wall. There are two more similar images in the PiPs. Thanks for looking and have a splendid weekend.
