I thought it was about time I posted something cute ;-))
Taken at Hilsea Lido, Nr Portsmouth in Hampshire. Their nest is only around 4 metres away and almost touchable from the bank. They were very popular, and lots of people were taking photos which didn't seem to bother them at all.
There's another image in the PiP. Enjoy and thanks for looking.
Hilsea Lido, Street Art (Plus PiPs)

The Lido at Hilsea near Portsmouth, is in the process of being renovated and is currently hidden behind a series of temporary hoardings. As the hoardings were so boring the council invited some local street artists to come and brighten them up.
There are several works of art on show, but this one is my favourite. It is a collaboration between two artists; My Dog Sighs (who did the eye) and Fark (who did the rest).
Please view large and check out the two PiPs for close up views of the eye. The background in the eye is the Portsmouth skyline.
Thanks for looking and have a great weekend.

A street candid captured in Southsea, Hampshire.
The reflections in the shop window are from some colourful street art and a bus on the opposite side of the street.

Taken in Portsmouth along one of the main road into and out of the city.
Please view large and check out the PiP for a close up of one of the eyes.
The artist is My Dog Sighs.
Bicycle Rack with "Blue Rope" (+PiP)
|
|
|
|
Spotted on The Hard, in Portsmouth, Hampshire. A first glance the "rope work" could be real, but in fact it is some very nicely done metalwork painted to look like knotted blue rope.
I thought about adding it to Xata's group, but decided not to push my luck :-)))
A close up look of one of the "ropes" in the PiP.

Pretty Things

Taken indoors in natural light and using a white card as background. On the computer I changed the white background to give it a "cool" blue look. I also added a white border, which you'll notice if you view large, which I recommend.
All these items have been picked up over the years mainly in charity shops etc., purely for the purpose of photographing them. Now that has been done, they'll go back to a charity shop for someone else to use.
Hope you like it.........and thanks for looking :-)
Large Red Damselfly (Female)

Taken in my garden. I was surprised to see it as I always associate these with water, and the only water I have in my garden is a couple of bird baths!
I used my 40-150mm zoom lens to get this shot and then cropped it, as I couldn't get near enough to the damselfly with my 60mm macro. Better viewed large.
Thanks for looking.

I thought I'd post an extra photo today.
This my wife Jackie, hard at work this afternoon in our back garden "jungle".
Several of you have commented about the nice flowers in our garden........... this is the reason why!
I was helping by taking photos and generally keeping out of the way :-)))
