Oak Tree
Taken from a lay-by in a country road near Stansted Forest in Hampshire. It will look even more impressive once the trees start greening up, so I shall have to go back and take another photo.
Better viewed large............thanks for looking.

The Treadgold Fish

Taken on the Sea Front at Southsea, Hampshire on a pretty grotty afternoon. This "sculpture" is made from scrap metal and is used to collect plastic bottles in the fight against plastic waste. It moves around the city to wherever it's needed.
I've photographed this a few times over the years. There's a shot from 2019 in the link below:

Treading the Boards

Me, standing on some decking on the sea front at Southsea Hampshire, on a wet and cold afternoon yesterday. I was sheltering from the wind behind a closed ice-cream stall.
You can view large if you want..........but it won't make it more exciting :-))
Dell Quay Boats

A collage showing some of the sailing boats moored up at Dell Quay, West Sussex (part of Chichester Harbour).
Still Life in Miniature
In miniature, on my table top we have a napkin ring, a whisk, a grater, a cookie cutter and a beer bottle opener.
A piece of black card as a background, natural window light. I've gone for a low key look.
Best viewed large if you have time. Thank you.

Wavy Lines Abstract
Taken for the Macro Dreams Challenges group latest theme: Wavy Lines.
This is part of a glass vase with coloured wavy lines made from raised glass on the outside. Once I'd taken the photo however the close up view showed that the glass was badly scarred from all the use it's had and it didn't look very nice............so I decided to disguise the scarring by over-exposing it and adding a texture. I then changed the colours and made the whole thing into an abstract. I hope you like it.
Also fits into the following previous challenges: Yellow, Lines, Stripes or Ridges, Glass, Five or more.
Catkins (+PiP)
These are the catkins on the small Twistred Hazel Tree in my garden.
Thanks to Amelia I discovered that Hazel trees have both male and female flowers. The catkins are the male flowers which carry the pollen. On the same tree will also be female flowers, which are very tiny (just a few mm tall) and which are very easy to miss unless you know about them. I only knew because Hazel had told me and so I was able to find them..........you can see them in the PiP.
Anyway, the pollen blows out of the catkins and on to the female flowers which eventually will produce hazelnuts! Magic!

Taken yesterday afternoon during a "mystery tour" in the South Downs National Park. A lovely sunny day and remarkably warm for the time of year.
Better viewed large, I think.
The Vicars' Close
Situated very near Chichester Cathedral West Sussex, (part of which can be seen behind the houses), The Vicars’ Close was established in 1475 to house approx 28 Vicars’ Choral of the Cathedral in spartan single-room chambers.
Over the years they were eventually converted into four large houses, all of which have been extended to the rear. As far as I can establish two are now privately owned and two are still used by the cathedral.
Books

I spotted this poster whilst browsing in a charity store bookshop. It wasn't for sale, but I was allowed to take this photo.
I wonder how many of today's children have ever read a real book, or had one read to them?
Best viewed large........thanks for looking and have a good new week!
Grey Wagtail

I would have liked to have got a bit lower for this shot, but I was looking down from inside a hide, so it wasn't possible. Taken at WWT Arundel in West Sussex.

These were starting to look a little worse for wear when I captured this shot back at the end of February.
Daffodil Abstract

I'm quite impressed with this one. Taken with my (fairly old) Samsung S9+ smartphone while I was sitting in a café where there were flowers on the table.
Considering this is a very large crop I think it's turned out quite well..!! Just goes to show that the best camera, is the one you have with you (my "proper" camera was in the boot of my car).
Have a nice day everyone...........and I hope you are all looking forward to an enjoyable weekend.
