Sailing into the Light
Blackbird
What a beauty! Taken at WWT Arundel, West Sussex.
This week we have decorators in the house so It will be a bit chaotic and my visits to your photo-streams may be a bit fragmented. Please bear with me :-)
Water Droplet (+ PiP)
I got up too late to catch the frost, so only the water droplets were still on this blade of grass.
Please check out the PiP for a view of some water droplets on a small patch of moss.
Thanks for looking.
Daffodil
I saw this daffodil growing in our local cemetery. Its stem had been bent and the flowerhead was pointing down towards the grass, giving me this rather unusual perspective.
Please view large, if you have time.
Horse
This lovely horse lives in a field adjacent to the Mill Pond and seafront at Langstone Harbour.
Best viewed large............thanks for looking.
Thanks to everyone who has visited my photo-stream over the past week or so, especially those who have left a comment and/or a star. Very much appreciated.
Jacks
Posted for the Macro Dreams Challenges group, for the theme: Games and Puzzles. I've already posted one for that theme, so this is an extra :-)
If you have never heard of Jacks or don't know how to play it, here is a link to a short video:

There are lots of versions but I think this one is the easiest.
The Royal Oak and the Old Mill
The weather here yesterday started off cold, cloudy and drizzly..........but by the time I had to drive my wife to her nail appointment just after lunch, it was starting to clear, so I decided to drive an extra couple of miles to Langstone after I dropped her off. This is the sight that greeted me on arrival.......sunshine, reasonably calm waters (just after high tide) and some lovely reflections. About an hour later the sun had gone and the clouds were back.
I know I've posted many shots of this place.........but I just can't resist it.........could you?
Splendid viewed large on black, if if say so myself :-)
Tabletop Tulip
A cut flower from a bouquet given to my wife. Photographed on our table with the wall as a background (although I changed the colour of the wall).
Dancing Magpie Goose
The Magpie Goose (Anseranas semipalmata) is the sole living representative species of the family Anseranatidae. This is one of a small group who currently live at WWT Arundel.
Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, Arundel, West Sussex
My wife, daughter and I took a friend to WWT Arundel last Saturday as a treat for her birthday. It was a bit of a grey day, and avian flu had forced the closure of some parts of the site, but we still had a lovely time, even though I took very few photos.
This is part of the main path that circumnavigates the site. The thatched building on the left is where talks and displays take place throughout the year, usually given by volunteer wardens.
Inside a Tulip Flower
I positioned the camera over the flower, using a tripod, getting the lens almost inside the ring of petals and I then used a torch from underneath to give me enough light for the photo.
This was a cut flower from a bouquet, so I was able to shoot indoors avoiding the wind.
Abstract Textures in Wood
All taken in Dell Quay, West Sussex in the boat yard. The larger image is part of a wooden post that had been set on fire late last year. The other two are from a large piece of driftwood (an old tree trunk) that had washed up on the shore.
I did not have a macro lens with me so I used my 12-40mmm zom lens which has pretty good close focusing.
Best viewed large.
Rat
Spotted yesterday, during a walk around the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Arundel, West Sussex. I was hoping to see a water vole, but no such luck.
Best viewed large..........thanks for looking.
Something Hooked
I hope this qualifies for the Macro Dreams Challenges group latest theme: Something Hooked.
Would also fit in a previous theme of Pink.
I was going to put it down for Games and Puzzles.......but I thought that would be pushing my luck :-)))
Have a good weekend everyone.........and thanks for all your visits, comments and stars over the past week.
Mudflats
A view across the mudflats of Langstone Harbour, taken from the sea wall at Farlington Marshes. Apparently the sailing boat had been washed from its moorings elsewhere and on to the the mudflats in strong winds........and was waiting for high tide to be recovered.
Rope Detail
Detail shots of rope ,taken just for fun and for posting in Xata's rope group. All taken in the boatyard at Dell Quay, West Sussex.
I wouldn't bother viewing large...........it doesn't get any better :-)))
Multicoloured Stones
We're still in the process of clearing out lots of odds 'n' sods we've collected over the years......most of it will go to our local charity shops, but I'm taking photos of some stuff before it goes.
We bought a bag full of these lovely polished stones years ago. No idea what for, but they're very photogenic.
Low Tide at Dell Quay (+PiP)
I got wet and muddy boots taking this shot, but I was keen to get this perspective. Best viewed large, I think.
Another image with more boats, in the PiP (with the South Downs in the background).
