Keith Burton's photos
Waiting to be Used
I got these some time ago and they've been sitting in my desk drawer, together with the handle, just waiting to be used. I don't know why I bought them as I rarely attempt any do-it-yourself jobs, basically because I'm pretty inept at that sort of thing.
Still, I think they make a pretty good photographic subject!
The Lone Paddleboarder
Taken on a tranquil, but cold winter afternoon, at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire.
(He's braver than me..........he would have been very cold in that water if he'd fallen off the board)!
Grey Heron (+PiP)
We stopped at Buriton, Nr Petersfield in Hampshire and to our surprise this beautiful Grey Heron was standing in the pond. Better viewed large.
Another shot of it in the PiP if you have time to look. Thank you.
Frozen
Taken at Langstone Harbour, Hampshire on a freezing cold morning back in January.
This is pretty much the same scene as this one: www.ipernity.com/doc/keithburton/51725390 taken in December last year.
Bad Hair Day!

Old Man's Beard (Clematis vitalba), with added texture. Taken indoors in natural light from window.
Quite nice viewed large.
Thanks to everyone who has visited my photo-stream over the past week or so, especially those you have left a comment and/or a yellow star. Always appreciated,.
Have an enjoyable weekend folks..!!
Grey Heron

I managed to grab a shot of this Grey Heron as it took off from the duck pond in the village of Buriton, Nr Petersfield in Hampshire.
Shades of Green
An extra from me today posted especially for the Macro Dreams Challenges latest theme of Colour on Colour.
I will also fit previous themes: Leaves, Green, Perennial Leaves.
Best viewed large - thanks for looking.
Beer Pumps
We popped into The Square Brewery, a lovely old pub in Petersfield Hampshire, last Monday to grab some lunch.
We were sitting opposite this set of beer pumps which I thought were worth taking a photo of.
Just in case you were wondering, I had a coffee........as I was driving :-(
Cheers!
Cemetery Snowdrops (+PiPs)
Taken in the cemetery of St Mary's church in Buriton, Hampshire. I think I probably got these images just in time as some of the snowdrops are starting to die down.
This is quite heavily cropped to get rid of a lot of distracting stuff, so best viewed large if you have time. There are a couple of PiPs as well.
Countryside Road
Drove along this road in the South Downs National Park near Finchdean, yesterday afternoon and couldn't resist stopping the car to take a photo of this view.
Spring Snowflake (+PiPs)
So far this year I have been unable to find any decent looking Snowdrops to photograph. However, my neighbour has a lovely patch of Spring Snowflakes in her garden, which I was allowed to access.
These are much easier for me to photograph as they grow taller than snowdrops and I don't have to get so low down :-))
There are a couple more shots in the PiPs including a close up look at the inside of the flower (for which I used my 60mm macro lens).
If at first you don't succeed.......give up!
I'd been sitting in the café at WWT Arundel watching this gull trying to pick up that ;are pebble without success. It must have tried a dozen times or more before it gave up.
I think it's best viewed large. Thanks for looking and have an enjoyable day.
Tranquil Langstone Harbour
Taken during an afternoon walk at the beginning of this month.........in hazy sunshine. Hayling Island in the background.
In the distance you can see the masts and buildings of the sailing club (on the left) and the Langstone Hotel (on the right).
Leaf with Stars
Rubbish weather yesterday, so a little more tabletop photography. A fallen leaf from the garden, a hole-punch and a piece of white card. I think it worked out quite well.
This is a little bigger than life size if you view large, so possibly qualifies as macro, but definitely close up.
I got the idea to use a hole punch when I saw a shop selling "eco-friendly" confetti, which was using a similar method to get the shapes from flower petals and green leaves, but drying them and making confetti from the shapes.
Fallen Petals
Langstone Harbour View
Taken from the sea wall. The part of the foreshore lined by old railway sleepers is not easily accessible at high tide without getting your feet wet!
Crocus (+ PiP)
This image and PiP posted for the latest Macro Dreams Challenges group theme : Flowers or Petals.
Will also fit earlier themes; Gold, Spring, The Inside of Something, Flower Heart, Five or More.
Gulls in Flight
Nothing exciting, just some gulls flying around at Langstone Harbour, two captured against the sky and two against the sea.
Thanks for looking and have a good week everyone!
