Juvenile Wren (+Pips)

Juvenile Wren (+Pips)
I've known there was a Wren visiting my garden for quite a while now, but although I've seen it, I've never been able to get a photo........until this day when I was in the garden and actually had my camera with me. Not the best lens, but I didn't want to miss the photo by going back indoors to grab my 100-400mm zoom, so this little set are all cropped.,

Please check out the PiPs as well if you have time, one of them includes an adult bird feeding a grasshopper nymph to the juvenile. All photos were taken on a woodpile in the corner of my garden, which I leave to attract wildlife.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Gudrun. I've since discovered they have a nest high up in the trees that separate my garden from my neighbours garden. I've only seen them around briefly since though, but I hear them quite a lot. Hopefully they'll nest nearby again next year.

A magnificent set of beautiful images Keith, Fine detail and images with an awe factor for sure,
They must be comfortable in your garden as they are normally rather speedy,
I often see one briefly when I am in my garage, but we have a bother boy grey squirrel that keeps everything on their toes.
Really impressive shots !

Thanks Roger............I'm pleased that you like this little series. I was very lucky to get them. I think that because the juvenile was not used to people he didn't fly off when he saw me and so the adult had to come to him instead. I've only had brief glances of them since, but we can hear them quite often.

We've only had a couple of grey squirrels visiting this year..............which is unusual, as most years we have half a dozen or so. Mind you, it's saved me a fortune in bird food :-))

Hi Roger, you can be lucky to have so few. Our neighbouring gardens have full size horse chestnut trees and hence nuts so our two resident squirrels are at this moment digging countless holes in our gardens to store their winter larder. We have had perhaps two dozen different squirrels in during this year so far. ~ Cheers, Herb

What a wonderful set of shots you have here. You are so lucky to have wrens in your garden. We too have seen the odd one in ours but never a family like this. PiP No1 is my favourite. ⭐ Very well done.

Thanks very much Herb.............I agree I was very lucky to have got these images. I've only had glances of them since, but we still hear them each day, so we know they're still around,.

Thanks Wilhelm............I'm pleased you like this series and enjoyed your kind comments.

I've had dead wood in my garden for a few years now, most of it has completely rotted down, but there is still some left for the birds and bugs!
