Chichester Street Art

Chichester Street Art
During a wander around the back streets of Chichester, I found some street art that I'd never seen before, although it's obviously been there some time.

Go large for a better view!

Eva Lewitus, aNNa schramm, Heidiho, trester88 and 22 other people have particularly liked this photo

I love coming across things like this. The smallest figure of the child letting go of a Brexit balloon is similar to Banksy's work, which I like a lot. The two children remind me of evacuees from WWII, with the box on her back! What can I say about the dog.....he's very big ;-))
Excellent shot Keith.

Thanks for your comprehensive thoughts Rosa.............I think you've nailed it with the Brexit balloon girl and the evacuee children. The huge dog remains a mystery!

I've stolen your thoughts to answer Jean Paul's comments below :-))

The baloon girl, is it real Banksy?

I doubt it........but it's definitely in the "style" of Banksy!

Jean Paul

I don't know who the artists are, but I think it must be three different people. I know nothing about the huge dog, but the little girl with the balloon seems like something to do with Brexit. The two children are probably to do with the evacuation of children out of big cities into the countryside during WW2. You can see what looks like a gas-mask over one of the children's shoulder. There really doesn't seem to be a common theme I'm afraid.

A wonderful find! If that ballon girl isn't a real Banksy then it's a very good imitation:-)

Thank Gudrun............I doubt it's a Banksy...........but you're right it's obvously someone copying that style.

Thank you for that. You would think I'd have the gumption to find that myself wouldn't you?

Good of you to drop by!

Two Artists ! I don't know, the dog is a bold statement I would expect to see on walls in Ancient tombs. I am very much drawn to the children so very different and perhaps created by a more talented artist. Either a good talking point. Good street capture Keith.

What a contrast - the dainty little drawings on the left and the crude dog looming over them. The pipe is sort of comical. Makes a great photo!
