The Sunday Challenge - Books!

The Sunday Challenge - Books!
"One boy... One dragon... A world of adventure."

Christopher Paolini started these books when he was just 15 years old. I've read them through twice now. I just love this series.

, dsglass, , autofantasia and 9 other people have particularly liked this photo

I have always been interested in reading this series, but never got around to committing to it. What a wonderful presentation of this popular fantasy; well done, Karen! :)

Val, my son started reading these in about the 5th grade (he was an avid reader). imho they are as good as the Lord of the Rings trilogy, just different.

Thank you Wierd. I guess if you hadn't read the book you might enjoy the movie "Eragon", but when we went to see the movie after reading the first book it was a real let down. People were walking out of the theater they were so disappointed. I remember one guy saying "Well, that wasn't the book I read!" lol

I remember reading that the author said "The director had a very different idea of the story than I did." I got the feeling he was not happy with it either. I think this happens a lot with books and movies. They had some big name actors in it too. This would be something that Peter Jackson would do really well. I hope the in the future it can be given the care and respect that it deserves.

Fantastic shot and great books - the kids just loved Eragon and the sequels, when I was running the school library - to think of him writing that when he was 15 is even more mind blowing!

That little fairy on top is just perfect!

Thanks so much Paul. That's so fun to know and it is amazing how brilliant kids can be at such a young age sometimes.

Thanks Kenny. I think you can read the first one called "Eragon" for free online if you want. Pretty neat!

nice composition, the background works really well with the books, weirdly whenever I look at the thumbnail I see a bath duck sitting on top of the books . . .

That's what I had to do. I read these books so many times lol. He does provide a synopsis at the beginning of each book.
