Thanks Dick, not even that close I'm afraid and the ferry stops for the winter mid October after that it's 12 miles or so up and down a mountain road.

I think it can be very very bleak indeed ...
even when it is raining and times when its foggy
it always seems difficult for me to envisage
being there all the time ... but it is beautiful,
Xtra beautiful when it is like this to compensate ;-)

From a photography angle a bit of mist often helps the image along but as you say life must be bleak in a harsh winter.
