It's been unusually cold, Fred, and we are near both Lake Huron (to the north) and Lake Erie (south). The cold combined with a strong north wind produced lake-effect snow. It's not typical of this time of year.

This was an unseasonal snowfall, Sarah. It's been unusually cold, and London is on a peninsula between Lake Huron and Lake Erie. A stong north wind created lake-effect snow.

The cold has persisted here. Today we're having a brief respite (high of 5C) but back to the cold tomorrow. The normal high temperature at this time of year is around 10C.

Nice that you have sun. I've just come back from a wet overcast week in Northumbria and really appreciate that the sun is shining here. We don't have snow but there is frost ! Interesting about Robert the Bruce.

We had sun, Jean. We're back to overcast now. The snow is disappearing today, as the temperature has risen above zero, but tomorrow it will be cold again.

Thanks, Keith. This snow is unseasonal -- it's been unusually cold and a north wind off Lake Huron (which is north of us) produced lake-effect snow.

Yes, we've had more snow since I took this, too, George. It's -6C here at the moment. Usually the high temperature at this time of year would be near 10C.
