Oddly, the thumbnail sharpens the cubist nature of the composition, which I really liked. Close up like this, I find it more confusing, if that makes any sense.

I take your point, Steve. A crop might help. Or, because this place is only a block from my place I could take a few more shots.

I think, for me, nothing is quite horizontal or vertical in this shot, which is very cubist, giving me the feeling of being inside a three dimensional space.

Part of the appeal of this view to me was the deviant verticals -- one of the charms of living in an environment where you have a spring thaw. This is a downhill section of street, too, which partly explains the horizontaks. And I failed to shoot straight on, as usual. I hadn't thought of the sensation of space, so thank you very much for pointing that out to me. It may well have been an unconscious attraction that my unconscious didn't bother to tell my conscious mind about. Thanks to you I'm certainly aware of it now.
