Menu and sign lean one way, the white-shirted gent leans the other like he's compensating. Oh - and the hamburger sign agrees with the gent on what is straight, what is canted. f it weren't for the small, walking figure in hot pants we wouldn't know what is straight up! Call it "seasick in Toronto"?

The canopy is interesting, too, now that you mention it, Bob. One of the few spots in Toronto that isn't entirely rectangular.

Great street scene, as always John.
What is poutine?

Thank you very much, Maggs. Poutine is a plate of chips with cheese curds on top and turkey gravy over both of them. Toronto is about the only place in Canada where it's not popular, but this is a neighbourhood wher a lot of tourists go. Torontonians prefer a nice beef patty as a snack.

Hopefully hot-dogs are good cause they're expensive !

Halal beef, Léopold. Guaranteed to be nothing but beef. The appeal of kosher hot dogs, too.

Dizzying angles, but as a chef my eye was drawn to the menu!!

And the menus are interesting. I'll try to remember to shoot some of the many menus posted by street vendors. They would make an interesting album if photographed properly. Thanks for the inspiration.

That's a lot of cholesterol. But at least it's halal. Except for the bacon.

Until this year I used to allow myself either one peameal bacon sandwich or one goat roti in each of the three temperate seasons. This year I seem to have lost my taste for them, though -- haven't had either yet and here it is pushing fall.

Whew. That's over five Canadian dollars, $5.35 in fact. The quality of yours may be higher, though.
