Astoria Megler Bridge (#1264)
Astoria-Megler bridge over the Columbia River, from Astoria to Megler, WA. The bridge was finished in 1966 and is 4.1 miles long. It has two steel truss sections, the highest one over the main channel close to Astoria, a lower section in the far distance close to the Washington shore. The approach on the Astoria side, barely visible in the lowest portion of the pictures, curves sharply to parallel the shore line. The website celebrating the 50th anniversary of the bridge has lots of interesting information: astoriamegler50.com
