Cape Disappointment North Head lighthouse (#1204)

One wonderful discovery from having stayed in Long Beach, WA was Cape Disappointment State Park. There are two lighthouses in the park (more on that later), interesting trails, and excellent documentation. I had to buy a $10 day pass for using the parks, but the day pass is good for the entire day in any Washington park (if you can get the machine to work).

The picture here is from Bell’s View trail at North Head lighthouse. The cape is at the southern end of the Long Beach Peninsula, which extends 28 miles to the north.
