A key motivation for this trip was to see this bridge again. The only trip I’ve done along the Northwest coast was many decades ago, I think in about ‘76, when I’d come down the Washington coast and came to this bridge when I was quite tired from driving too long. Even then I was impressed by a bridge that seemed to be almost two bridges, an elevated section followed by a very long but low bridge and then a very high section that seemed to end abruptly.

We'd also like to get back to the Oregon coast. We made that same drive ca. 1984, and would like to get pictures! Of course, you had _very_ good weather-- ;)

It was cold most days and often cloudy/fog, but luckily most days had some sunny stretches.

We crossed this bridge toward the end of the 2006 Alaska trip, and this is when I checked off my 49th state. I really liked this bridge.
