Snowplough
In winter conditions (which can last into May) all vehicles going to the North Cape have to drive in convoy behind a snowplough. The convoy starts and goes back at set times, at all others the road at the turnoff to the North Cape is closed.

After 3 or 4 kilometers, the snowplough was driving at 70/75 km/h ( the driver was late ?)
In a snowstorm at dusk (it was - 20° in the wind), on an iced road, it is very difficult to drive at such a speed, so all the cars were lost after 25 kilometers (even the norwegian drivers).
We encountered lost cars from the previous convoy and cars from our convoy planted in the snow on the side of the road. In this case the first one to pass stops to help..
After more of an hour, we found the lodge lost at Sarnes near Honningsväg. Thanks to my daughter who was driving but no thanks to the Finnmark road department members.
Gudrun club has replied to Sylvain WiartThe few times I have been to the North Cape the snowploughs actually were rather slow to keep the tour buses and tourist cars from speeding.
