Ja, die haben den Salpeter die Pazifikküste hochgeschippert und auf dem Rückweg dann das Holz geladen- in der Ecke von Chile gibt's ja keine Bäume.

Thanks, Graham! The wooden walkway is part of the street- which is now a pedestrian zone with a historic wooden tram as the only vehicle.

A lovely old building. I'd imagine it would be very hot there in summer and the design looks well suited to that climate.
